The Stone Hatchet unlock began with bounty messages from Maude in GTA Online. Completing her target work revealed the weapon’s location, connecting a contact activity with the new melee reward.
After collecting the hatchet, the advertised challenge required 25 melee kills. Its reward was GTA$250,000 and an associated Red Dead Redemption 2 unlock on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The weapon discovery and the kill challenge were separate steps; collecting the weapon alone did not complete the bonus condition.
